Bathroom Saga part 3?

Okay, so I'm not sure what installment I'm on for this project, but the bathroom is coming along nicely. I came home yesterday to a fully installed tub/surround minus the faucet and spout. Those went on today along with new drywall , repaired ceilings in both bathrooms and the first layer of mud. I think the new tile floor goes in tomorrow along with some smoothing out of the drywall and ceiling repairs.
It is at this point where I step back and admit how deliriously happy I am that we hired someone to do all of this. It's not been without its share of glitches and snags and had Rich and I tackled it on our own I figure we would have finished sometime next December.
As for my cabinet refinishing project, I am off to start the sanding so I can get moving on the staining. It's a bit humid today so I'm limiting my project for tonight to the vanity since it's cooler in the house.

More later..

Bathroom remodel - the saga continues

Well, after a weekend of ripping and shredding, stripping and scrubbing, (Poor Rich spent most of the weekend destroying the bathroom and I spent it stripping cabinets) we were able to hand over the responsibility for putting it back together to our remodeling "crew". Okay, there are two of them, but they're already making progress. Tonight when I got home they had the sub-floor in place where a gaping hole had been this morning and were wrestling with the plumbing and the tub. It's not hooked up yet, but it's close and oh, how wonderful it is to see a shiny new tub there! Yay!
Thanks to Tim, we were able to figure out the puzzle that is the toilet drain in relation to the sub-floor- yes it sucked big time getting that all pulled apart - but we are thankful to have someone we could ask at that hour of the night. Sorry Tim! I didn't look at the clock before I called!
The dumpster was delivered this afternoon sometime and is waiting to be filled; a project I thought we might tackle tonight but then I was told to leave it as Johnny and Dan - our repair guys - said they would take care of it for us. How stinkin' cool is that?!?
Anyway, I'm gathering that the tub and plumbing connections associated with that are a major hurdle so I have a feeling they'll make some decent progress tomorrow. To be honest, it's tough sitting at work waiting to go home so I can see how much they've gotten done. Josh isn't paying all that much attention to what they are doing so pestering him for updates is pretty much a useless proposition. I don't think he quite grasps the importance of my knowing... oh well...

Well, I'm going to head off to bed as it's getting late, and my battery is dying anyway. Besides that, it's still 92 degrees out here (I'm on the deck) and I'm starting to wilt.
I'll be back with an update tomorrow if I can!
