We've Got Mailbox!

Whoo hoo! We're happy to report that we now have a glossy new mailbox in place of the formerly dilapidated, sad thing we had.

I can now meander out to get the mail or paper without shame! Well, maybe as long as I don't go out in my bathrobe...

I'm sure the mailman is thrilled considering he can now both reach the box without leaning halfway out of his truck and the door actually stays on when you open it.

So anyway, now it's up to the rest of you to fill it up! ha!

Actually, the mailbox was more or less the start of my Spring outdoor cleaning. Once Rich got it installed I figured I better get going on the rest of the yard. We finally had a sunny day today so I started tackling the raking. A word to the wise: it's a really good idea to rake your leaves in the Fall when they fall. Winter snuck up on us last year though and we didn't get the yard cleaned up like we should have. I paid for that today. With Josh's help I was able to clear out most of the front yard, one side of the house and part of the back yard before my arms gave out and Rich took pity on me to finish it up. Three Ibruprophin later and I think I may live. Good thing because tomorrow I need to finish up the rest. Yay.

I've decided to devote a little more time to my flowers again this year, hopefully with the help of my pal Lynn who actually knows what she's doing in that department. Last year I let everything slide so I have a LOT of weeding to do again. Drat. I am counting on Lynn to steer me in the right direction for what to plant to fill in the rather large gaps in my garden plan. Why all the stuff I've planted in the past can't just cooperate and grow like it's supposed to, I have no idea. Apparently I didn't inherit Dad's gift for gardening.

Well, I'm off to a comfy spot on the couch where I can rest my aching bones before I crawl off to bed.

Catch you later!
