Having already boasted of my own new car experience, parts of this may be a little redundant, but to top things off, Dan is now the proud new owner of his first real truck. Yesterday, he and Rich went dealer-hopping to see if they could find a new truck for Dan. Up until recently Dan had been driving the Infinity that he purchased from his uncle Greg. Unfortunately, the transmission started to fail and the cost to replace it was daunting. So... with more than a little pleading and 20-yr old reasoning Dan made a pitch to trade the Infinity for a truck. I am happy to say we were able to talk him out of the Chevy Silverado GAS HOG that he had his eye on and found him a smaller, albeit snappy looking, Ford Ranger. Initially, the idea of 1) driving a FORD, and 2) a Ranger, didn't seem all that appealing to him, but having seen what is available for his price range and perhaps agreeing somewhat with our logic that the Silverado would in all likelihood escalate his gas budget into the rafters, he warmed to the idea of a smaller truck. With all that said, I think the photo of Dan and his new wheels pretty much says it all. Along with the joy of having new wheels, Dan is also now counted among the millions who make monthly car loan payments.
As for me, I'm still thoroughly enjoying that new car smell! Here's the photo that I promised yesterday.
